Mango Mousse

When it's summer, there's nothing better than quenching your Mango cravings. Undeniably, Mango is everyone's favorite and I hope you enjoy this amazing easy mousse recipe.

A creamy Mango Mousse is an absolutely wonderful choice for a dessert after meal or even just a snack anytime of the day. The beauty of this recipe is that it uses Mango puree which can be store-bought off season or even better, made fresh when Mango is in season.

Since the only available mangoes that I could use were Atuaulfo (honey mango)- creamy and extremely sweet. I did not need to add any sugar to this recipe.

For serving options, I have made 3 versions of the same Mango Mousse
1. Mousse topped with fresh Mango
2. Mousse topped with homemade Mango Jelly
3. Mousse topped with roasted almonds, pistachio and saffron

Ingredients
For the Mousse
Mango- 1, pureed (add sugar if the mango is not sweet enough)
Heavy cream- 1/2 cup, cold
Condensed milk- 2 tbs (optional)
Gelatin- 1 tsp (optional)
Hot water- 2tbs

For Mango Jelly
Mango- 1, diced
Sugar- 3 tbs
Lime juice- 2 tbs
Gelatin- 1 tsp
Hot water- 2tbs

How to make
Mousse
1. Whip the cream and refrigerate it until use.
2. Puree the mango and fold it into the whipped cream, little by little.
3. Add in the condensed milk and gently mix everything together.
4. Add gelatin into hot water and stir it till the crystal dissolves.
5. Mix gelatin into the mousse and allow the mousse  and allow it to set for 3 hours in the refrigerator.
Note: If you are not using gelatin, allow it to set overnight in the refrigerator.

Mango Jelly
1. The mousse has to be set and refrigerated for at least 2 hours before you proceed.
2. In a separate pan, add mangoes and sugar and heat it until the sugar crystals dissolve.
3. Puree the mango mix with 1/2 cup water and lime juice. Adjust the tangy taste as per liking.
4. Add gelatin into hot water and stir it till the crystal dissolves.
5. Mix the gelatin into the tangy mango mix.
6. Serve it separately or pour it on top of the mousse.
7. Allow the jelly to set for an additional 3 hours.
